Description: Extracted from statewide school districts for Texas. This information was collected from all 254 county central appraisal districts and from the Texas Education Agency. GIS staff of the Texas Legislative Council created the school district boundaries using the 2010 TIGER/Line shapefile as base geography and made further corrections to match the school district boundary updates and name changes for the 2014-2015 School Year. These changes include lines that are not census geography. Changes to school district boundaries may include one or all of the following types: school district annexations or de-annexations; school district consolidations, deletions or additions; boundary corrections to the Texas Legislative Council database; boundary adjustments due to more spatially accurate data involving land parcels and survey data received from a county central appraisal district. Note: The 2014-2015 School Year school districts in the council's geographic file are not the same as the 2009-2010 School District Review Program (SDRP) districts in the Census Bureau's TIGER/Line Shapefile. Description: The Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) is the unincorporated land within five miles of the City of San Antonio (and other incorporated cities) boundaries and includes all unincorporated territory that is not located in another city’s municipal boundary or ETJ. It is the area in which the City of San Antonio (and other incorporated cities) is/are the only authorized entity able to annex land. The ETJ enables the city to extend regulations to adjacent land where development can affect the quality of life within the city. ETJ regulations help to ensure that subdivisions that may be annexed in the future meet certain minimum standards. The claim to be effective in the external territory (except by the exercise of force) must be agreed with the legal authority in the external territory, or with a legal authority which covers both territories. Description: Bexar County, Texas - Master Development Plans (MDPs): Master Development Plans are overviews of an applicants proposed multi-unit/phase development. They are used to determine the general location and layout of proposed lots, infrastructure, individual plat units, and other features in the development. These plans are used to coordinate planning activities and thoroughfare locations and alignments. The Dataset contains polygons representing areas within Bexar County for which a Master Development Plan has been submitted. The process by which Master Development Plans are processed is controlled by the City of San Antonio Development Services and Planning Department. Bexar County Infrastructure Services Department, Public Works Section, is responsible for reviewing MDP's as a certifying agency for the City of San Antonio. This shapefile was created from data that was produced by the City of San Antonio, and from MDP submittals to Bexar County Infrastructure Services and does not include MDP's located within the corporate limits of any of the incorporate cities within Bexar County but does include MDP's created in the unincorporated areas of Bexar County and areas that are designated as extraterritorial jurisdiction of any of the incorporated cities in the county. The boundaries of the MDP areas are established by engineering/survey companies and provided to Bexar County Public Works as part of the required submittal package. MDP boundaries are subject to change.
Description: This data set represents the extent, approximate location and type of wetlands and deepwater habitats in the conterminous United States. These data delineate the areal extent of wetlands and surface waters as defined by Cowardin et al. (1979). Certain wetland habitats are excluded from the National mapping program because of the limitations of aerial imagery as the primary data source used to detect wetlands. These habitats include seagrasses or submerged aquatic vegetation that are found in the intertidal and subtidal zones of estuaries and near shore coastal waters. Some deepwater reef communities (coral or tuberficid worm reefs) have also been excluded from the inventory. These habitats, because of their depth, go undetected by aerial imagery. By policy, the Service also excludes certain types of "farmed wetlands" as may be defined by the Food Security Act or that do not coincide with the Cowardin et al. definition. Contact the Service's Regional Wetland Coordinator for additional information on what types of farmed wetlands are included on wetland maps.

Description: These water basins are primarily sand filters which collect the first few inches of stormwater runoff from pavement in the area. The water is filtered through sand or other media, removing impurities such as oil and metals which wash off the pavement, before eventually draining into creeks and streams.
